Job Description


Journal Technologies is seeking candidates for a Software Implementation Specialist role. They will assist in the implementation of Software, technical systems and solutions. They will evaluate client needs and develop configurations that support business processes. Being an Implementation Specialist defines and executes on delivery and implementation plans. Tests and troubleshoots final system setups. Additionally, Implementation Specialists provide training and end-user support during and after the implementation process.


Applicants will be responsible for functional requirements specifications, process mapping, production and maintenance of documentation, application configuration, and training of end users and administrative users. Travel and on-site presence at customer sites is required.


Qualifications / Requirements


  • Self-starter accustomed to a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly absorb information and become a subject matter expert
  • Broad knowledge in application software, technologies, and networking systems
  • Experience in requirements gathering and requirements documentation
  • Experience in leading requirements gathering sessions with clients
  • Must have excellent oral and written skills for use in writing detailed business requirements and presenting solutions to other team members and clients
  • Ability to communicate customer requirements effectively with product management and development teams
  • B.A./B.S. or equivalent work experience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience in data conversions and data interface projects is a plus
  • Experience in justice agencies, particularly courts, is a plus
  • Experience with software implementations either with a systems integrator or consulting organization is a plus
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Groovy, JavaScript, etc)
  • SQL development experience (e.g., PL/SQL, Transact-SQL)
  • Familiarity with report software such as Crystal Reports is a plus
